Leading beyond the stage.
Every season, Agut designs and builds a new programming project, meticulously crafted and arranged under his direction in collaboration with an international orchestra. Each project reflects his unique vision, offering a fresh approach to the concert experience.
Agut employs a captivating fusion of music and narrative in his programming projects, creating deeply immersive experiences that connect the past to the present in both educational and emotionally resonant ways, inviting audience to explore cultural histories in a dynamic format.
Spanish Dances: In 2023, Agut’s project, “Spanish Dances”, featured a five-concert tour in Sweden with Camerata Nordica. This format combined music and storytelling, as Agut narrated episodes from Spanish culture and history, creating new pieces with composer David Moliner for eras without records and highlighting figures like Don Quijote.
Baroque Journey: In 2024, Agut launched “Baroque Journey,” which showcased the clarinet in baroque music using boxwood clarinets from Buffet Crampon. Premiering at the Castelló Festival, Agut conducted and performed as the soloist, demonstrating the clarinet’s versatility in this genre.
Rhythms of Europe: Premiering next season, “Rhythms of Europe” will explore the diverse rhythms that define European culture, celebrating unique musical traditions from various regions and enhancing appreciation for the continent’s rich musical heritage.
The California Music Festival is a unique worldwide project in California that combines the most interesting parts of the both kind of branches that the musical industry offers, either profesional oriented or students focused.
The CMS oversees two flagships projects with Agut serving as both Executive and Artistic Dirtector:
The California Music Festival is an immersive event celebrated during late spring, showcasing concerts featuring renowned artists alongside rising talents. And the California Music Society Annual Season, a curated series of concerts held throughout the year.
Both projects serve as transversal events that offer education to the young students, the festival implements the Side by Side program and during the annual season invited guests give masterclasses.
The California Music Society (CMS) will announce its season lineup on January 10th, featuring internationally renowned artists from Europe and the United States. This exciting musical event will bring everyone together in Los Angeles, showcasing the talent of California’s best students alongside these distinguished performers.
All the performances are community oriented and special partnerships will be announced also in January.
The Castelló Music Festival stands as one of Spain’s premier festivals, serving as a vital cultural, musical, and media catalyst in the Province of Castellón in recent years.
Since its inception, the festival has championed the artistic, educational, and social significance of music, striving to enrich the community. It offers young performers access to high-level education under its educational program called European Music Institute and provides the people of Castellón with concerts of excellence and international relevance, all while celebrating local musicians. In its first thirteen years, the festival has hosted over 120 concerts, focusing on cultivating future audiences and enhancing Castellón’s vibrant cultural scene.
The festival unites internationally acclaimed artists with talented local musicians. Alongside performances of works by established classical composers, it premieres very often new compositions by Castelló composers.
Despite its relatively short history, the festival has featured distinguished artists and ensembles such as Alban Gerhardt, David Oistrakh Quartet, Andrey Baranov, Camerata Nordica, Madrid Soloists, Gergana Gergova, Francisco Fullana, and Chul-Geun Park, along with members of prestigious orchestras like the Kölner Philharmonie, Pittsburgh Symphony, Dresden Philharmonie, NDR Elbphilharmonie, Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid, Opera de Valencia, Europe Chamber Orchestra, and Royal Danish Orchestra.
The festival is committed to establishing Castellón as a leading cultural reference point in Europe.
This year’s Festival will span two weeks, with performances taking place across Castelló Province.
Guest artists and groups will be performing from the most prestigious halls to small towns, where outdoor concerts or industrial venues are sometimes the best fit for this unique project that brings so many people together in the Castelló community. The lineup includes the Bogotá Philharmonic, Quatuor Elmire, and the Aurora Trio, alongside local groups and soloists.
The 2025 lineup will feature the Bogotá Philharmonic, Quatuor Elmire, and the Aurora Trio, along with a variety of local groups and soloists.
